課程概述

這門課的目的, 在介紹學生熟悉太平洋群島的人與文化。在島嶼有限的環境中, 自然的力量相對強大, 而文化愈顯活潑有彈性。也成就了豐富多樣的屬於太平洋的文化。太平洋群島地理上與台灣接近；而與台灣原住民族所使用的語言，均同屬南島語族，自是我們學習容忍，了解，欣賞異文化一個極佳的起點。知識之外，上課方式也將由分組「每周新聞」報告，培養同學搜尋外文新聞的習慣。另外有一學期作業，同學由作業演練策劃與執行的能力等。

課程目標

課程要求

上課方式 : 本課程鼓勵同學積極參與。上課前十五分鐘由一組同學介紹所選島嶼一則當周新聞，再由老師針對當周主題講授。第三節課為討論課，由負責同學帶領討論指定閱讀文章。每篇文章以15分鐘為限。討論課前每位負責同學要準備好2個問題並提交一份給教師。學期作業將由同學與老師討論後選定一具操作性的題目。在作業中同學可以盡情發揮創意、整理在課上學習到的現象、分析概念與你個人的感受，從中找出你有興趣、並在當地有意義的現象來分析並提出行動方案。建議可以從本學期所選當周新聞做延伸，選定一大洋洲地區的時事進行分析，並討論該議題的相關影響，進一步思索可能提供的解決辦法或展望，甚至可以與臺灣的相關近況進行比較。部份影片將在課堂上放映，部分將在課外公開放映。此外，同學每交出一份六百字內的書面摘要，可得總分一分，以不超出十分為限。同學所報告的新聞請上傳 https://www.facebook.com/worldaustronesian 分享。
